Complex Social Solutions, Inc. was founded by Milca Pierre, a social entrepreneur, educator, and development consultant with over two decades of experience shaping initiatives in some of the most difficult environments.
Milca’s work has spanned education, youth & community development, and project management. She has helped build community schools, executed youth programs, strengthened grassroots organizations, directed nonprofits, organized a farmer's network, and advised entrepreneurs and leaders on how to launch and grow enduring ventures.
As a second-generation Haitian-American holding both a Bachelor’s in Sociology and a Master’s in Political Science from the University of Chicago, Milca brings academic discipline and lived experience to her work. Her ability to navigate environments facing instability, poverty, and complex social dynamics, moreover, ensures that meaningful work carries on, no matter the disruption.
Milca believes that lasting change begins when vulnerable communities obtain the tools and support they need to stand on their own. This is why she will continue to address, and help others address, urgent community needs while laying foundations for durable solutions.
